This distinctive Kyoto folding fan is crafted using multiple layers of kakishibu (fermented persimmon tannin), giving it a uniquely rich luster and added durability. The resulting finish—natural yet dignified—embodies the quiet strength and elegance of traditional Japanese design.

This is a short-surface fan (tanjisen), where the paper section is smaller and the bamboo frame longer, allowing the bamboo to flex more freely and create a soft, natural breeze. Its understated appearance makes it suitable for both formal and casual settings, blending seamlessly into any environment.
